Red or Blue?
The Matrix is not something to base your SEO strategy on but it does illustrate the red pill, blue pill choice illustrates what most brands feel brilliantly.
If we were writing the SEO Matrix script it would go something like:
Us: You’re here because you know something. What you know you can’t explain. You’ve felt it for a while, that there’s something wrong with your online strategy. You don’t know what it is, but it’s there, like a splinter in your mind, driving you mad. Do you know what I’m talking about?
You: SEO
Us: Do you want to know what SEO is?
You: Yes
Us: SEO is everywhere. It is all around us. You can see it every time you turn on your PC. You can see it when you go to work… when you go to home… when you pay your taxes. It is the world that has been pulled over your eyes by SEO pro’s to blind you from the truth.
You: What truth?
Us: That you are blind to what your SEO team are doing and its effectiveness. That your brand has been chasing shadows. That you have lacked ambition, scale, ingenuity and purpose.
Us: This is your last chance. After this, there is no turning back. You take the blue pill – the story ends, you wake up in your bed and believe whatever you want to believe. You take the red pill – you stay in Wonderland and I show you how deep the rabbit-hole goes.
